EveryONE Counts, is a program to promote the idea that every child understands that no matter what their challenge is, they still have the ability to shine. While dedicating my time volunteering and encouraging others to join me, we can help disabled children build strong foundations so they can be confident and succeed in life.
A Learning Disability is a generic term used for children who have difficulties learning and performing various skill-related activities. Mental Disabilities also known as intellectual disabilities refer to children with limitations in mental functioning. Neurological Disabilities include disorders like autism but also sensory-input problems. Physical Disabilities occur in a wide range of severity, and can affect the child's extremities or ability to perform certain specified motor skills.
As an early childhood educator I have had many opportunities to work with children that have learning disabilities, mental disabilities, neurological disabilities, as well as physical disabilities. This is something I will help children with every day as a teacher.
